Use this checklist to make certain that all entries are eligible for judging in the Arbor Day National Poster Contest. Please send in only one poster per school.
1. All entries must be created by a student who is currently in fifth grade.
2. All entries must be signed in the lower right-hand corner on the front of the poster with the student's first and last name.
3. Entries must be done in marker, crayon, watercolor, ink, acrylic, colored pencil or tempura paint. Collages are not acceptable. Computer generated art or computer generated printing is not acceptable.
4. Entries must be no smaller than 8.5"x11" and no larger than 14" x 18".
5. Entries must be done on paper that will allow for duplication, display and framing.
6. The poster must be complete.
7. The poster must be related to the contest theme in some way. The current theme must be clearly displayed on the poster. All words must be spelled correctly.
8. Entries must be mailed flat, and should not be matted, mounted, laminated, framed or folded.
9. All posters should have the School Winner Report Form attached to the back of your school's winning poster. The form can be found in the Activity Guide or contact the Michigan Arbor Day Alliance for a copy.
10. Posters must be postmarked by the contest deadline to be eligible for the state contest. January 31st, 2010. The State Winner will go on to compete in the National Poster Contest.
