Announcing Environmental Education Trunks

LANSING – Eaton Conservation District is proud to announce the availability of Michigan Arbor Day Alliance Environmental Education Trunks. The purpose of the environmental education trunks is to allow educators in Eaton County the opportunity to rent a trunk for a period of time to supplement their existing classroom materials. Trunk materials will provide educators with the opportunity to offer hands on learning, curriculum ideas, games, art projects and more.
This project was made possible with funding provided by, Capital Region Community Foundation. Environmental Education trunks are available for K-5 and 6-8 educators. In the future we hope to provide trunks for Early Childhood education and grades 9-12. It is FREE to rent an Environmental Education trunk from Eaton Conservation District. Please call our office to reserve an Environmental Education trunk for your school. Great resource or non-traditional educators as well, Libraries, Youth Groups, Girl and Boy Scout Troops, 4-h Clubs, etc.
We are in the process of scheduling workshops for the Environmental Education trunks. Workshops will allow educators the opportunity to view all of the available items and familiarize themselves with classroom application. If your school or organization would like to host a workshop please contact Rachael Wood at (517) 543-5848 x5 or miarborday@gmail.com. Workshops are expected to be brief lasting no more than 2 hours.
The Michigan Arbor Day Alliance (MADA) is a coalition of organizations and agencies dedicated to the promotion and celebration of Arbor Day throughout Michigan.  Our dedication comes from our belief in the importance of trees and their role in community health and well-being. Since 1993, MADA has provided educational programs and services to Michigan communities.
